David has extensive experience of representing clients generally in Magistrates' Court proceedings and in more serious cases. He has had conduct of cases involving murder, manslaughter, armed robbery and serious fraud. He also has experience of representing clients in private prosecutions such as trading standards and health and safety matters.
He joined Smith Dawson in 2003 where he has specialised in Magistrates' Court work including trial advocacy.
David was educated locally and graduated from Wolverhampton University, subsequently qualifying as a solicitor in 1979.
He has been a police station Duty Solicitor since the start of the scheme in 1985 following implementation of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and also has considerable experience as a Court Duty Solicitor. He is a member of our police station advice and assistance team.
